Orion Controller display Operating Manual

Operate an Orion Touch Controller, 

swipe horizontally to navigate between pages, tap icons to select functions, and swipe vertically to scroll lists.
Tap a menu line to open a submenu and swipe left-to-right to go back to the previous menu.
 
When changing a value, such as float charge voltage, tap the icon to access the relevant menu, then tap the entry to edit it and enter the password and new value.

General Navigation
 
  • Swipe Left/Right: Move between different pages or screens.
  • Tap an Icon: Select a specific function or menu.
  • Swipe Up/Down: Scroll through lists or options.
  • Tap a Line: Open a submenu or access a detailed setting.
  • Swipe Left-to-Right: Go back to a previous menu or the parent menu.
Modifying Settings (Example: Float Charge Voltage)
 
  1. Access Battery Menu: Tap the battery icon to open the battery menu.
  2. Locate Float Charge: Scroll through the list until you find the "Float Charge" entry.
  3. Select for Editing: Tap the "Float Charge" entry.
  4. Enter New Value: The option to change the value will appear; tap it and type in the new password and value.
  5. Confirm: After entering the new value, the previous menu page will be displayed.
Important Notes
  • Password Entry: 
    A password is required to modify certain settings.
     
  • Saving Changes: 
    To save a setting, you must enter the new value and confirm it.
     
  • Canceling Changes: 
    To cancel a setting modification and not save the changes, swipe left-to-right to go back to the menu.
     
  • Contextual Help: Look for a "?" icon to access online help for the active window. 

The local user interface is operated by smartphone like gestures

System Functioning Icons








The top level contains the most important screens used to monitor the system and to access the other screens in the sub-menus level. They are placed in a horizontal structure and can be navigated from left to right and back. It includes the screens: -
HOME –
MENU –
ALARM –
METER PANEL
All the other screens are in the sub-menus level. The sub-menus level is organized in a tree-based structure. The root screen of the tree is accessible from the top level.  From the root screen it is possible to navigate to one of its sub-screen and to the sub-subscreen and so on until there are no more sub-screens available. The number of subscreens depends on the system configuration. The concept is visualized in the picture below:


To operate an Orion Touch controller, use touch gestures like swiping left/right to navigate between pages, tapping icons to select functions, and swiping up/down to scroll through lists. To open a submenu, tap on a line, and to go back, swipe left to right again. A password may be required to change settings, and you can cancel a change by swiping back to the previous menu without saving. 

Basic Touchscreen Operations 

Navigate Pages:

Swipe left or right to move between different pages or views on the screen.

Select a Function:

Tap on an icon to choose a specific function or setting.

Scroll Lists:

Swipe your finger up or down on the screen to scroll through a list of options or data.

Open Submenus:

Tap on a specific line or entry to access a detailed submenu for that function.

Go Back:

To return to a previous menu or exit a submenu, swipe from the right side of the screen to the left.

Modify Settings:

To change a value, such as float charge voltage, tap on the battery icon, find the entry in the list, and then tap the value to input a new number.

Cancel Changes:

If you don't want to save a new value, swipe left to right to go back to the previous menu before confirming.

Other Interface Elements (May Vary by Model)

Navigation Bar:

Some Orion controllers feature a navigation bar on the left side of the screen for moving through menus and accessing information. 

Keys (for older models or certain interfaces):

Some Orion models may have specific keys like ENTER to activate functions, change parameters, or confirm entries, and EXIT to leave menus or break an input. 

Default Password:

For some controllers, a default password might be used to access settings, such as the sequence: : 112443
